You might have noticed me posting mangalorean recipes continuously for the last few days the reason for this is…………… I was in Puttur(my home town) for a month, so I thought it would be a great idea to share some of the famous Mangalore cuisine with you all……….. Above all, these mangalorean cuisines prepared by my mom.
Mavina hannina sasive is a recipe of Mango, which is very simple and famous in Mangalore.
Ingredients | |
10 | Mangoes |
2cups | Fresh coconut grated |
4-5 | Green chilies |
4 | Kashmir red chilies (roasted) |
1tbsp | Mustard |
¼ piece | Onion sliced |
2sp | Jaggery |
Salt to taste |
Seasoning Ingredients | |
2 sp | Oil (preferably coconut oil) |
1tsp | Mustard |
2-3 | Dried red chillies |
Few Curry leaves |
Method
Peel the skin of mangoes, add salt and jaggery mix well with hand and keep aside.
Grind fresh coconut, greenchillies, kashmir red chillies, mustard and onion sliced to a paste by adding water.
Add ground masala to mangoes mix well add little water and keep aside.
Heat oil add mustard when it crackle add dried red chillies then add curry leaves fry for few second and add this to mango and mix well.
Serve with rice.
